Had a dark corner in our bedroom, in kind of a reading nook.This really fit the bill. All the other lamps in the bedroom have the exact "square" shape shades so this is perfect. Only wish had been available in the oiled bronze. We may still paint it. However, most decorators say every room should have a little black in it.

The sconce is pretty but cheaply made. They are not level because the screws are so cheap and do not fit.

The finish is more of a flat black with bronze undertone. It was exactly what I wanted. Installation was very easy but the cord covers don't stay snapped on well. I agree that the swing arm is stiff and hard to move out, hoping this improves with use. Swing arm sconces are generally this price or more so although I wish the quality were better I think you have to pay more to get a really quality item unfortunately.

The color wasn't as true bronze as we thought it would be so my artistic wife added some antique bronze "overtones" to it with her paint brush and now it looks exactly like we wanted to look.
